How Does the Hand Flex Work?The Hand Flex is designed to provide positioning support for weak or deformed hands. It enables progressive increases in hand, finger, or wrist ROM to improve movement. The stiffener of the dorsal support straps down to help control wrist flexion. To provide the patient with more targeted therapy, this can be removed from the splint if less resistance is required. The addition of a foam roll underneath the splint will slowly increase metacarpophalangeal (MCP), proximal interphalangeal (PIP), and distal interphalangeal (DIP) joint extension to help correct contractures.
