Arctium minus## HOW TO GROW BURDOCK, COMMON Easy to grow, direct seed in fall or spring and harvest first year roots like carrots. Sow 1” deep in fall but less in spring. Germination can improve with presoaking for 12 hours. Roots become woody if harvested the second year. To make harvesting roots easier than digging, burdock can be grown like potatoes in empty bottom box or container with garden soil and mulch. Remove box at the end of the first year to harvest roots.
