This is a 1940s vintage 8-cup DuraLux Vacuum Coffee Maker - WHAT A RARE FIND! Classic in style and inspired in functionality, No plastic, no cloth, no paper.... Absolutely nothing to interfere with the volatile oils of the extracted coffee. Just water, coffee grounds, and 2 aluminum vessels. It is truly a beautiful thing. DuraLux pots were made in Wooster, Ohio by the Buckeye Aluminum Company. It incorporated a unique filter, and was patented by a local inventor and businessman who worked for the company, Mr. Joseph E. Fishelson (patent Number D-153,342). Pieces include a bottom pot, upper pot with a rubber gasket and an internal filter piece, as well as a lid (advertised as an “all-purpose cover”) that could be used as cover for the upper pot, a pouring cover for the bottom pot, as a funnel stand for the upper pot, or as a table mat for the pot.
