Atlas Stationers - Fort Dearborn Rollerball
Atlas Stationers is back with a new Tornado Exclusive in their Chicago themed series, Fort Dearborn. Built in 1803, Fort Dearborn was a United States military fort located on the Chicago River in what is now Chicago, Illinois. It was first destroyed in the War of 1812, rebuilt and finally decommissioned as a military fort in 1837. The last remnant of the fort was destroyed in the Great Chicago Fire of 1871 and is represented by the first star on the Chicago Flag. Since then, Fort Dearborn has survived in Chicago through the years with a landmark site inside the Michigan-Wacker Historic District. The image on this rollerball depicts the old fort on the bottom of the pen with the current city buildings that now stand in its place on top all complimented antique brass accents. Although the original fort no longer exists, its legacy lives on in the history of Chicago. This numbered edition pen will be the last pen in the Chicago Flag series that also included Century of Progress (2019),
