Granite State Potato Chips in Salem, NH, was a local institution. When they were cooking chips, you could smell them up and down Rt 28, and that would call you to go in a get a box. You would go in and place an order for the size you wanted, the chips came down a big chute, and they would scoop them up and fill up whatever you ordered from a small box to a big bucket.
