Why Use them? IC sockets provide many advantages in IC design, assembly, test, upgrade, andmaintenance. Some very early C64 motherboards had full socket sets but slowly these were removed as a cost saving measure. This kit includes sockets to upgrade your Commodore 64C computer to a fully socketed motherboard.   Some revisions require a different socket set.
