Mark III

Released in Japan in 1985, the Sega Mark III is the successor to the SG-1000 line and represents Sega’s major step forward in home console design. Built with significantly improved graphics and sound capabilities, the system introduces hardware that later becomes the foundation of the Sega Master System released internationally and is therefore regarded as a retro gaming icon. The Mark III supports both cartridges and Sega My Card games and features a growing library of arcade conversions and original titles. For players it delivers one of Sega’s first technically advanced home gaming platforms, while collectors recognize it as the direct ancestor of the Master System family.
