Necronomicon (1993)

This horror anthology is divided into four segments and starts in the 30's with well-known horror writer H.P. Lovecraft (Jeffrey Combs of Re-Animator fame) discovering the book 'Necronomicon' that has been guarded by monks in an old library.  Upon examination of the Book of the Dead, Lovecraft unwittingly releases a monster and as he copies the text from the book, the stories unfold before his and our eyes.
