Blue Flame Cactus

Plants in the Epiphyllum genus actually belong to the cactus family, although they typically do not like much, if any, direct sun, and prefer very strong indirect light. They can tolerate moderate light but are less likely to bloom. Their foliage is typically long, flat, lobed leaves that are relatively simple, but they are sought after for their very large, fragrant flowers, which often bloom for only one night. Mature plants will often produce multiple blooms at once, many times a year. They like to dry out quite well in between thorough waterings, and this drought-flood cycle often encourages flowering.
