Size: 2.25m x 1.07m / 7.38ft x 3.51ft  100% Wool Azilal Rug The women from the Azilal region weave these carpets to help them cope with the harsh winters in the remote High Atlas Mountains. The ivory-cream backgrounds of these carpets certify the untamed nature of the wool. The capricious images and irregular compositions combine shared Berber symbols with the women's particular stories of rural life, motherhood, and child rearing. They express the joy, fear, and aspirations of the weaver, and give insight to a culture with roots in heathen religions. Due to their handmade nature, no two rugs are alike.
