El Cap from Taft Point

Watercolor print of El Capitán in Yosemite National Park as gazed upon from Taft Point. Some process notes: I layered on the North America Wall with washes of muddied indigo and left the rock scars light, with just a sweep of pink. I liked how the trees started to fold into the East Ledges descent, like someone pinched a gulley in soft granite - like playdough. The forest darkened as an army of trees crowded in droves around the base. All hail the Captain!
