Azahares

Azahares, from the old Andalusian Arabic "zahra", is Spanish for "orange blossoms." Inspired by harvest time at the end of Summer in Andalucía, Azahares is not your typical orange blossom candle. Under certain conditions, orange trees may bloom more than once a year, and it is not uncommon to see fruits and flowers simultaneously on the same trees.  Azahares is a take on the thick perfume of orange blossoms at the end of the Summer harvest. In traditional harvesting, the flowers are collected in sacks of leather or jute, and the harvesters burn dried orange peels to ward off mosquitoes and bees. So, a neroli distillation at this time will have leathery and smokey nuances.  Orange blossoms have been distilled into floral waters for centuries; Louis XIV famously bathed in them.
