Full sun-light shade; moderate water. Popular trailing plant from Mexico, grows to 1-1 ½ ft high, 2-4ft wide. Narrow pointed purple leaves along thick herbaceous stems and small three petaled purple-pink flowers among the leaves in summer. Drought and heat tolerant. Makes a great hanging pot specimen or as a creeping groundcover with bold color for the sun or shade garden.
