Her family moved to Southern California in her toddler years where she attended high school and college. Rita, her husband, and her children now reside in Texas where she creates in her studio. The focus of Rita's portraits is contemporary women with a whimsical twist. Her style merges characteristics of abstract expressionism with realism and portrait painting to convey not just the beauty of women, but their confidence and strength as well.
