Charred Chawan

This matcha bowl features a glossy black texture layered over a matte grey base layer. One portion of both the exterior and interior fades to a smooth and glossy maroon color, while the rest of the bowl is quite textural and bumpy. It's also very thick, durable, and good at holding heat.  Having a nice matcha bowl is critical to preparing matcha well - the flat bottom and high sides enable vigorous whisking without fear of splashing or damaging the whisk. Beyond that, as it warms up, the bowl becomes a very comforting vessel from which to drink!
