Fordite is a slice of American History! Also called “Detroit agate” or “motor agate” & cut and polished like a gemstone. It takes almost 1000 layers of paint baked 50+ times to form a 1 inch thick piece of this rare upcycled material. Between 1920-1980, USA auto makers spray painted car bodies by hand, overspray accumulated, & over time, layer upon colorful layer built up.
