Courtier's Outing, 6-Panel Screen

Gold clouds are parted above and below to reveal a bird's eye view of the landscape with courtiers on an outing. Children play while ladies and aristocrats walk along a river that winds between hills and flanked with grand pine trees.  This Meiji Period six-panel byobu (Japanese folding screen) has gold leaf clouds and sprinkled gold throughout.  Painted with mineral pigments on paper, its colors remain vibrant and true.   150 inches wide, 70-3/4 inches tall. 3.81 meters wide, 1.8 meters tall. Hanging kit included.
