Specular Hematite, also known as specularite is a form of iron ore from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. These specimens have been cut and polished and then coated with an glossy resin to give the specimens an "always wet" look. These are great, affordable pieces for rock lovers and collectors. The pieces pictured are examples of the piece you will receive. This pictures give you a great view of the different shapes that the specimen may come in. The one we select for you will be of similar size and quality to the onbes pictured. The pieces will measure between 1.25-1.5" by 2.25"x2.75" and weigh about 3-5oz.
