Specular Hematite freestanding cut base

Specular Hematite, a form of iron ore from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. These specimens have been cut on the bottom to allow them to stand without assistance. Then they were cut and polished along the front and then coated with an glossy resin to give the specimen an "always wet" look.
