Light Box - Retro Accent Lamp with Steampunk Inclinations - Upcycled Cigar Box with antique replica components.This lamp is one in a series of five lamps which was originally inspired by an Edison lamp my daughter, Ria, made. If these lamps could speak they would tell you that their conception was a result of happy accidents. While the lamps kept the original spirit of Ria's Edison lamp, those accidents led me in a completely different direction. The result was three very distinct lamp variations. At least in this series, for I have more ideas in mind! The base of this lamp is a wooden cigar box with a laser engraved 6" x 5" wooden applique of gears which we design and engrave. Four additional wooden gear appliques give the design dimension. The socket is gold-gilded porcelain, and for a vintage look we used high quality cloth covered electrical cord, and a Bakelite antique replica plug.
