DuraPlus Attic Insulation Shield

The DuraPlus Attic Insulation Shield is required in an installation where the chimney pipe is passing through an attic space. The Attic Shield attaches to either a Firestop Joist Shield or a Ceiling Support Box. The Attic Shield consists of two parts: the base and the storm collar. The two parts ensure nothing will come in contact with the chimney pipe in an attic and provides safe clearance to combustible material. The Attic Shield can be used with 6" and 8" DuraPlus Chimney pipes. Note: If the attic space is too short to accommodate the Attic Shield, you must frame around the flue pipe to ensure nothing can come in contact with the chimney pipe in the ceiling support box. A taller Cathedral Ceiling Support Box can be used in place of the attic shield and cut to the profile of the roof pitch to act as the attic shield.
