Starting at $50 I use the same porcelain clay for the urchin pots and fire to the same temperature but treat the surface of the pot differently. The inside is glazed with a clear glaze and the outside is painted and clay slip is applied to add texture. The outside is unglazed so as not to minimize the texture and adds contrast.
