Rapier - Cup Hilt
Made-to-order: Build time of 12+ weeks* The rapier began as a lengthy cut-and-thrust sword and evolved into a lighter more specialized thrusting weapon. It was characterized by it's complex hilt and long slender blade. Early rapier designs, such as the side/double-ring, were derived from the shorter and heavier side-sword. Our cup-hilt rapier is inspired by the Spanish designs which opted for a large cupped guard instead of complex rings or branches. Our design is optimized for stage combat technique by having a fully rolled cup edge and a shorter cross-guard. It pairs perfectly with any of our daggers, but is a historical companion to the main-gauche. • Ambidextrous guard - Dominant Hand refers to musketeer blade position • Aircraft-grade aluminum or high carbon steel blades** • Safely rounded tips and edges • Carbon steel guard, and pommel• ABS grip core covered in Leather, Rayskin, or Wire Wrap• Threaded tang & pommel for easy maintenance• See specs for detailed dimensions *See
