Made-to-order: Build time of 12+ weeks* The rapier began as a lengthy cut-and-thrust sword and evolved into a lighter more specialized thrusting weapon. It was characterized by it's complex hilt and long slender blade. Early rapier designs, such as the side/double-ring, were derived from the shorter and heavier side-sword. Our swept-hilt rapier is the culmination of complex rings and bars being added to the hilt design for greater hand protection while still remaining light and versatile. A counter-guard adds even further protection while an ambidextrous guard allows for ease of use with either hand.
