Some murders should be left unsolved. A university professor, Matthew Alford, suspects the CIA killed a Hollywood screenwriter to protect a government secret. Alford believes it was an assassination, disguised as a car accident. So, he contacts a filmmaker to document the evidence he has accumulated. When Alford receives a phone call warning him to leave the case alone, he heads to Hollywood to conduct his own investigation. With unprecedented access to key witnesses and the family of the deceased, he builds a case for murder and thinks he has uncovered the real reason the Hollywood screenwriter found himself in deep water.
