Dogwood Dish

"There were two flowering dogwoods in the front yard of my first childhood home. One was squat and held a small metal ornament, but the other felt towering to my young frame and offered a spiral staircase of branches perfect for climbing. I loved to hide in the fluffy flowers and peer down at my siblings when they arrived home from the school bus. Dogwood patterns are particularly dear to me for this reason, and I especially love Jens Jensen’s dogwood vases for Rookwood. This dish was one of my first explorations in the collection, taking inspiration from Jensen’s palette and experimenting with overglazing to add dimension to a piece." — Julia Lipovsky One-of-a-kind dish Hand thrown by Rebecca Rohr Hand painted by Julia Lipovsky Measures: 7.25" wide Markings: Potter's artist cipher Signed by Julia Lipovsky 2024, marking the year the vessel was thrown Roo
