The Moonglow Pear’s brownish-green skin covers soft flesh with a sweet mild flavor. It's an early producer with fruit ready for picking in mid-August. The trees need a pollinator to produce fruit. Fruit is thin skinned, yellow that blushes red, and quite juicy. Excellent early ripener. They are an excellent pear for juicing or canning projects and after ripening, are wonderful when eaten fresh. Tree is known for is resistance to many common pear diseases with a notable resistance to fireblight.
