19th Century Staffordshire Peacock Inkwells, C. 1860
A striking pair of mid-19th century English Staffordshire peacock inkwell figures, made circa 1860. Handcrafted in vibrant glazes with beautifully modeled feather details, these charming peacocks once served as both functional inkwells and decorative mantel pieces—a classic example of the Victorian era's blend of beauty and utility. As with most Staffordshire pottery, each was handmade in a small regional workshop, resulting in slight color and detail variations between the pair. One figure has had professional restoration to a hairline, but both display wonderfully and remain highly collectible.
