Antique American Brilliant-Cut Crystal & Sterling Silver Claret (wine) Jug
A showstopper worthy of a Gilded Age dinner party or a Jazz-Age supper club. This American Brilliant-Cut crystal claret jug, circa early 1900s, would have been the envy of high society when crystal and sterling reigned supreme on glittering tables. The heavy crystal body is deeply cut with dazzling flutes and starbursts, topped by a substantial .925 sterling silver collar richly chased with fruiting grapevine — the hallmark motif of Mauser Manufacturing Co., New York. Collar stamped “STERLING .925 FINE” with style number “753” and Mauser’s grape-vine logo. The front bears an elegant engraved monogram “S,” adding provenance and charm. A striking example of Mauser’s craftsmanship, blending brilliant cut crystal with ornate sterling detail — perfect for display or service, and still dripping with early-1900s glamour.
