True Geraniums are the types of Geranium flowers that decorate gardens and houses. They do not produce enough essential oils and are not used for extraction and steam distillation. Pelargonium Geraniums produce more essential oils and are used by food, beverage, perfumes and cosmetics industries for their bright and vibrant fragrance. In the category of Pelargonium Geraniums, there is a rare subcategory called Pelargonium Graveolens, or “Scented Geraniums”. Why this name?
