The brothers inherited El Filo from their late father, Daniel Moreno, and have begun to create pathways for the younger generations to continue their family's legacy. Mario's other farm, Piedras Amarillas, sits at a slightly higher altitude and is planted with the descendants of the Pacas trees from El Filo. We hope to be able to feature both in the future as a means to compare the impact of slight differences in microclimate and tree maturity on the cup profile. We also look forward to purchasing coffees from other members of the Moreno family.
