After the tremendous success of the 1950's Dubrovnik set, this design underwent several revisions to increase its playability, including improving the shape of the knight and a wider rook.  The bases of all the pieces have been made chunkier and fatter. In fact, this set is the heaviest in its class. The design has been reconstructed using photographs of various antique original versions of the set.
