The AAFC team drew big crowds and frequently sold out Yankee Stadium. Hall of fame coach Ray Flaherty lead the team to back-to-back championship games, but lost both to the Browns. The team featured forgotten legend Spec Sanders, whose career only lasted four seasons. Sanders led the AAFC in touchdowns and rushing yards, threw for over 1,000 yards, intercepted three passes, and returned kicks.
