Hall of famer KC Jones coached the club to the playoffs in its first season. The following year, the team signed Wilt Chamberlain as a player-coach, but the Lakers sued to prevent Chamblerlain from playing. With Chamblerlain only serving as a coach, fans lost interest in the team.
