Basic knowledge of color management and profiling is required. Consider our Fundamentals of Print Color management class to learn the basics preceding this class. Prerequisite: Basic understanding and use of Caldera RIP. Basic knowledge of color management and profiling is required. Spot Color Workshop (Optional) Optional: Spot Color Workshop (2hrs) Now that we have excellent ICC profiles Caldera can correctly predict what is going to happen. This optional class helps in matching named color systems like PMS, customer samples, and how to manage these changes in Caldera for future jobs. We'll cover how to visually select and assign to a PMS color for future jobs, manage across printers and substrates. First we'll start with Adobe Illustrator. Getting the the spot color designated correctly is critical for Caldera to pick up and manage. We'll cover how to do this and how Caldera handles this info when processing a job. Adobe Illustrator settings We review Adobe Illustrator settings for Spot color designation, how to check PDF has the spot colors correctly, and finally confirm Caldera is recognizing those spot colors. Tune the Color Next we'll review how to tune the color output and designate this updated designation to be used automatically for future jobs.
