OVERSIZED Headstock Machine Screw Set for ShopSmith Mark V Machines Grade 18-8 Stainless Steel If the small screw holes in your headstock are stripped out, then this is the kit for you. The sheet metal pieces on ShopSmith Mark V machines are held in place by #8-32 machine screws, which are fine thread fasteners. This kit provides #10-24 screws which are larger diameter and have coarse threads. You will have to tap out the holes in the aluminum of the headstock with a #10-24 tap before you can install these new screws. If your headstock screws are falling out, maybe it is time to spend a small amount of money and properly secure the pans to your ShopSmith Mark V headstock. Our headstock machine screw attachment screw sets are made of stainless steel to eliminate rust. The bolt heads are the Truss style which is wider and more stable than the original pan head bolt heads. Also, the original machine screws were the self threading style. Our screws are NOT that type.
