Skateboard Wheel Axle Nuts Grade 18-8 Stainless Steel       This set of 4 nuts comes in the very popular 5/16”-24 UNF (Unified Nation Fine) thread. If you are not sure of your thread size and have a measuring caliper, check either the nut ID (Inside Diameter) or the axle OD (Outside Diameter. The nut ID should be approximately .26 and the axle OD about .30 inches.     The test for stainless steel is a magnet. If a skateboard nut is readily magnetic then it is probably either plated or blackened steel, either of which will rust in time. Our axle nuts are made of grade 18-8 (18% Chromium and 8% nickel) solid stainless steel. They are only slightly magnetic and cannot be lifted with a magnet. They will never rust.     Most hardware store locknuts are quite tall. Our low profile locking axle nuts are approximately 1/3 shorter. Please check out the photo.
