Made in Nicaragua at the company’s Nice Sueño factory in Estelí, the Steel Porcupine consists of a light Ecuador Connecticut cover leaf atop an African-grown binder leaf from Cameroon and a combination of fillers from Honduras and the Dominican Republic. In terms of strength, the company describes it as “medium plus.” Steel Porcupine is available in one size, a hefty robusto format the company refers to as Short Fattys, and measures 4 1/2 inches by 56 ring gauge. Limited to approx. 700 bundles.
