Lettres Art Nouveau 1900 Original Print

This print is from Etienne Muller's graphic design book, Lettres et Ensignes. Premiere Serie: Art Nouveau. Mulier, who was a painter, decorator and Professor of Decorative Composition, produced a number of pattern books on letter fonts, decorative painting, marbling and graining, and design based on plant forms. The book contained 18 illustrations of the alphabet, 10 illustrations of signs, with accompanying descriptions advising their use - the Cuneiforme letters would suit a tobacconist or bar, while the alphabet formed on the ibis would suit a shop selling feathers and duvets.
