Antique Baktiary Area Rug (5' x 6')

Dimensions: 5'6" x 6'5" (168 cm x 196 cm). Circa: 1930. Colors: blue, brown, dim gray, gainsboro, gray, light gray, off-white. The Baktiary is a tribe located in western Iran. They produce colorful geometric rugs often with a compartment design filled with stylized floral motifs or bold medallions. The village rugs are woven on a cotton foundation with the nomadic pieces on a woolen foundation.
