Antique Baktiary Area Rug (5' x 7')

Dimensions: 5'4" x 7'3" (163 cm x 221 cm). Circa: 1930. Colors: blue, brown, dark gray, dim gray, gainsboro, gray, light blue, light gray, light slate gray, off-white, pink, red, redwood, silver, slate gray. The Baktiary is a tribe located in western Iran. They produce colorful geometric rugs often with a compartment design filled with stylized floral motifs or bold medallions. The village rugs are woven on a cotton foundation with the nomadic pieces on a woolen foundation.
