Antique Baktiary Area Rug (4' x 6')

Dimensions: 4'9" x 6'4" (145 cm x 193 cm). Circa: 1930. Colors: black, blue, brown, gray, light gray, off-white, pink, red, redwood. The Baktiary is a tribe located in western Iran. They produce colorful geometric rugs often with a compartment design filled with stylized floral motifs or bold medallions. The village rugs are woven on a cotton foundation with the nomadic pieces on a woolen foundation.
