To many, the Martin OM-28 represents the perfect balance in acoustic guitar. OM, or Orchestra Model guitars are actually the same body shape as the Martin 000, but with a longer, 25.4" scale compared to the 24.9" scale of the 000 guitars. From a distance, you can often differentiate the OM from a 000 by its teardrop pickguard. The OM-28 Standard combines that comfortable and responsive 000 body size, with a longer scale for increased energy transfer to the spruce top. It handles both a heavy strum and a delicate fingerstyle approach with rewarding results. The rosewood back and sides provide a strong bass response and sparkling highs with a slight mid-scoop. The modified low oval neck profile and high-performance taper make the 1.75" nut width neck a breeze to play. While we don't see it as often as the natural gloss, the Ambertone finish is a beautiful burst that pairs well with the antique ivory binding and the rich chocolate browns and blacks of the East Indian rosewood back and si
