This Grand Auditorium Taylor guitar shares the same tonal and build properties to its relative 114CE, only without a Venetian cutaway. With the 100 series of guitars, Taylor excused lavish and ornate appointments instead for a more stripped-down instrument predominantly relying on the most important features to make a true Taylor guitar. That said, the 114CE features a Sitka Spruce top, layered Walnut back and sides, a genuine Ebony bridge and fingerboard, and Taylor’s ES2 Expression System. Layered back and sides lend towards less susceptibility to damage brought on by change in weather and climate acclamation, all without being constructed of non-wood or other composite materials.
