In July 1969, two NASA astronauts, Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin, became the first human beings to walk on the Moon, fulfilling President John F. Kennedy's challenge. During this historic mission, Buzz Aldrin wore an OMEGA Speedmaster Professional watch on his spacesuit, while Neil Armstrong left his inside the Lunar Module as a backup for timing. The OMEGA Speedmaster Professional Apollo 11 45th Anniversary Limited Edition watch commemorates this event with a titanium and gold case, a black engraved dial with gold accents, luminous hands, and scratch-resistant sapphire crystal. The bezel is made of SEDNA gold (a brand-specific gold) and matte black ceramic with a tachymetric scale. The fabric bracelet is inspired by NATO straps.
