In 1958 Rolex released the reference 5500 of the Rolex Air-King, which replaced the 4925 model that had been released a few years earlier in 1945. This new reference had the new 1520 and 1530 calibers with new technical modifications. The most interesting thing about the 5500 is that it remained in production for over 37 years, ceasing in 1989.
