Rolex Datejust Gilt 1603 de 1964

The lacquered "Gilt" dial is one of the rarest variations ever produced in the classic Datejust model series. These dials are highly prone to changing their color to a tropical brown tone, and their manufacture is exceptional, very different from conventional dials. They possess a unique shine and mirror finish on the text when the dial is in good condition. These dials on steel models fall within the serial number range 1.1xxxxx to 1.2xxxxx and were produced for a very short period of time between 1964 and 1965. The present watch is a true rarity as, apart from perfectly fitting the common production range and date, this piece has the letters "T" (which correspond to tritium) below the index of 6' a little further away than normal (t swiss t), which makes it the rarest variation within the lacquered dial, which is already exceptionally scarce.
