Niobium (Nb)
Niobium metal ingot - one troy ounce - .9989 bullion Niobium (aka Columbium) has a very high melting point yet low density and is corrosion resistant. It is has the largest magnetic penetration depth of any element, has superconductive properties, and a low capture cross section for thermal neutrons. These unique physical properties make it useful in superalloys used in the steel, aerospace, shipbuilding, nuclear, electronics, and medical industries. Approximately 90% of world niobium production comes from Brazil which means it could be subject to supply disruptions. Please see the below links for more information. Inscribed on our ingots are the chemical symbol (Nb), purity (99.89%), weight (one troy ounce), and a serial number (this number is unique and will vary). On the reverse is our logo. We think you'll like the even more coin-like dimensions of our latest batch of niobium, even a little thinner and a bit higher purity than the previous batch (pictured). They are lightly pol
