Panelled-Pocket Jacket — Wool/Hemp/Silk Twill
Our panelled-pocket jacket is cut from a woven twill blend of wool, hemp, and silk from Lanificio Bottoli, an Italian woolen mill founded in 1861, that is part of its eco-friendly, undyed collection. We lined the jacket with a Japanese cotton sateen that has a subtle sheen and enough slickness to throw it over any top. The jacket is unstructured and works well as a layering piece or on its own in temperate weather. The undyed fabric reads as a two-tone twill. The taupe wool yarns stand alone, whereas the hemp and silk yarns are twisted together to create a two-ply, off-white yarn. Once dyed with lac (an insect dye), the various fibers create a complex burgundy palette.Note that slight variations in color may occur among dye lots and are attendant to the natural dye process. - made in USA of Italian fabric (Lanificio Bottoli)- welted loop closures at wrists (adjustable) and neck- garment dyed by hand in NYC- pre-shrunk
