ABOUT A painted carved wooden Mexican Santo from the first half of the 19th century with articulating arms. The appearance of a "dress" suggests that it was covered in fabric at one point such as a priest's robe. CREATOR Unknown. DATE OF MANUFACTURE c.1800s. MATERIALS AND TECHNIQUES Carved, Painted Wood. CONDITION Good. Wear consistent with age and use. Minor structural damage. A piece of one thumb is missing and a large crack is on the back of the garment. One arm has been repaired and reattached at the elbow. Structurally sound. DIMENSIONS H 21.5 in. W 8 in. D 7.5 in. HISTORY Unknown.
